Marley Spoon & Me

We don’t get along. As you may know from my previous posts, I am trying out a few meal delivery services like Blue Apron and Hello Fresh. While I have enjoyed the experiment, the novelty is wearing off and unfortunately I am going to take that out on Marley Spoon. One of my biggest complaints about the meal services on a whole is how uncreative it can be. You don’t really get to express yourself or make any choices. But at least they do some of the creative thinking for you. But I found Marley Spoon very unimaginative with their dishes in comparison to the others.

The Dining Table

I have to admit that I am a bit of a mess around celebrities. Even minor celebrities turn me into a moron. My first celebrity sighting was in Seattle at the Whole Foods in South Lake Union. Spotted by her unforgettable scar, I saw Padma Lakshmi perusing the aisles with her posse. Knowing that Top Chef’s next season was supposedly in Seattle, I put the pieces together and thoughtlessly started following her through the produce section. I know this sounds completely crazy but what can I say, I wasn’t thinking and I was just so damn curious. Weekend List

Happy Saturday! A couple of weeks ago I posted a list of beautiful things on the internet that I found and couldn’t stop thinking about. At the time I felt like I had to have these things! Looking back I realize that most desires are fleeting.

Thou shalt not covet.

Here are this week’s beautiful things that I will release into the world and hopefully not want anymore next week!

  1. Sorel Boots – never heard of this brand before but I love these boots! and heading into fall, these are a must have, right?

  2. quip toothbrush – making buying dentail hygiene products fun! This is actually more of a need than I want, but look how cool and sleek this toothbrush is!

  3. pbteen Emil & Meritt collection – I never even knew this teen line from pottery barn existed. Look how adorable this cat backpack is. And I have no immediate use for a teepee, but it’s so pretty!

  4. Clarity Clutch from Truffle – love the minimalist look.

  5. Yogascapes – how awesome would it be to go to a beautiful serene location and just focus on yourself and do yoga?

Blue Apron Week

While I devoted three separate posts to each HelloFresh meal, I’ve decided to condense my findings about BlueApron all into one post. As I make my way through all of these different meal services, I think this will be the most efficient way to share my opinion.

The first thing I want to note about BlueApron, is that I was able to get my first box (3 meals for two people) for absolutely free. Yes, that’s right! Completely 100% free groceries. And after I received my first box, I cancelled. No strings attached, just 3 three meals for my husband and I. It is very difficult to argue with that.
