My New Favorite Water Bottle

Let me make this really short. Believe it or not water bottles are in right now. Along with yoga and fitness and dietary restrictions. I first saw the BKR water bottle on goop.com where most things are wildly expensive and pretentious. Then I saw it at Neimen’s, much of the same. And then I saw someone with one at yoga. So I had to have one. Usually by the time products make it to me they aren’t “trending” anymore. The trend has already happened and now they are mainstream. Which I suspect is the case with the BKR water bottle.

The Dessert That Makes Everyone Happy! Flan!

Does anybody remember the episode of Sabrina the Teenage Witch when she conjures a giant flan in the cafeteria to conclude a day of magical hilarity? Well I do. And it always struck me that flan didn’t really seem like a very mainstream choice for a high school celebration. A Gadget I Never Knew I Needed: The Apple Watch

Andaz Maui: Photo Gallery

I give this place an overall rating of A-. While I maintain that this is a great hotel, our experience has declined as of late. When we first visited the Andaz Maui in 2014, it was brand spanking new. They set obscenely high standards and treated everyone like royalty. A few years later and I understand when you are at full capacity that not everyone can be a princess anymore.

I get it but at the same time I don’t like it. Especially since I chose this place to shell out tens of thousands of dollars for the most important day of my life. Yes, we got married here in 2015 and it was completely perfect. And now, I expect to be treated like royalty every time I return. Unreasonable? Perhaps. But reason has little to do with anything.

Despite my disappointment this time around, it is still a beautiful property and the food is superb (specifically Morimoto and Ka’ana Kitchen). Our routine is to lounge by the pool for hours on end sipping smoothies.

Goodbye Dry Pasta, Hello Fresh Pasta!

Pasta is a quick and easy weeknight dinner. Boil some pasta and make a simple bolognese or carbonara and you have yourself a delicious meal. But the deliciousness is somewhat limited by dried, boxed pasta. After three or four tries with my new Atlas Pasta Maker, I have been able to make amazing fresh pasta that has turned my previously satisfactory weeknight pasta meal into a decadent, gourmet experience.
